Castilla y León

Project Scope
To construct, install, start-up and operate a plant for the anaerobic digestion of organic waste – manure and slurry from bovine livestock -, subsequent purification with chemical amine treatment and injection of resulting biomethane into the grid network: transportation gas pipeline operated by Enagás SA, taking advantage of the valves of the gas pipeline itself located in the region of Castilla y León, Spain. The digestate obtained after anaerobic digestion will be marketed as a base for fertilizers and organic amendments with high added value.
Project description
Construction, assembly, installation, commissioning and operation of a
biorefinery plant for the anaerobic treatment of livestock and organic
waste, for the production of biogas, with a minimum concentration of 52% of methane. The biogas obtained will undergo an upgrading-purification treatment by means of a chemical amine process, from which biomethane (CH4) with a purity greater than 98% will be obtained. This biomethane obtained will be injected into the transportation network owned by Enagás, into the gas pipeline that runs 15,000 meters from the plant, prior to its quality, purity and measurement control.
With the digestate obtained after anaerobic digestion of the waste, it will proceed to its liquid-solid separation obtaining an excellent base for the production of organic fertilizers or organic amendments, with good concentrations of NPK and other fertilizing elements and biologically inert in terms of pathogen organisms.
Currently, there are LOIs for the acquisition of sufficient cattle manure (115,000 Tn / year of which 95,000 Tn are bovine manure and 20,000 Tn of straw) from cattle farms in the area. Base price for economic forecasts. Likewise, there are LOIs from several buyers for the sale of the digestate obtained, both liquid and solid, at a price that can be clearly improved, which has served as the basis for making economic forecasts. On the other hand, there is also a commitment to
acquire the biomethane produced for a period of at least 5 years, at a price that we currently consider to be improvable due to the foreseeable evolution of the market and that has also served as the basis for making economic forecasts.
